Tent (Fold-Over)
Your standard card size would be 2 X 3.5. A Tent card or Fold Over card would be a 4 X 3.5 finished card folded in the middle. Its called a Tent card because when folded, it will stand up on a table much like a tent. If you've ever found yourself giving a presentation in front of 20 people at a table, this would be a great time for you to lay your Tent cards in front of each person!
Die Cut
Have you ever seen a business card that was cut into a custom shape? This would be a Die Cut card. This process is a little more expensive because you have to have a custom "Die" made. For instance, lets say you want a card in the shape of a star. Your printer would have to have a special metal Die made to cut the cards into the shape of a star. Thats not including the layout, which definitely would not maximize page space.
Eco Friendly
With ever increasing awareness of our environment there are many different ways to pitch in when it comes to the designing of your cards. From multiple recycled paper stocks to soy inks your concience will be clear!
UV Coated
A glossy coating that you can cover your cards with to prevent colors from fading and to bring out the rich colors in your design. This also provides a shiny finish.
Matte Finish
This would be the opposite of UV coated cards, providing a dull matte finish.
Holographic
3D, Holographic or lenticular printing offers the ability to have 3 dimensional animated cards. Show a full range of movements with a slight turn of the card.
Rounded Corner
Usually involving a Die Cut or Shaver, having rounded corners is always pretty cool.
Scored and Perferated
The process of scoring your cards would involve having creases put on your cards for ease of folding (probably good for a Tent Card). The process of perferating your cards would allow for recipients to tear off a section neatly (perhapse for a coupon).
Magnetic
Printing on magnetics is obviously great for sticking on fridges or metal surfaces ensuring that your contact information is never too far away from those most likely to buy from you.
1 and 2 Sided
Some people have more content they would like to convey on handing out their cards. Printing two sided cards is a great way to put more information on your card.
