Visual Effects Training in Delhi

Visual Effects (commonly named as VFX) are processes with which imagery is created or manipulated outside the context of a live action shot. It generally involves in the integration of live-action footage and generated imagery which creates realistic environments. Miniature Effects- it is an effect created for motion pictures and television programs using scale models. These models are combined with high speed photography or matte shots to make convincing to the viewer. Now days, use of miniatures is largely suppressed by CGI in cinema.

Miniature Effects- The method created using scale models for motion pictures and t.v. programs is called miniature effects. In this process high speed photography and matte shots are combined to make shots which looks more convincing to the viewer. The use of miniature effect is highly decreased after the introduction of CGI in cinema.

Stop Motion- in this technique a model or puppet is shot frame at a time with slight change in angle between each frame.

Schufftan Process- It is a movie special effect which is named after its inventor- Eugen Schufftan (183-1977). This technique is widely in-used in the first half of the 20'Th century but then completely replaced by the travelling matte and bluescreen effects.

Matte Painting- It is a technique where landscape, set or distant location are represented by painting which creates an illusion of an environment which otherwise will be too expensive to shot.

Rotoscoping- in this technique an animator will trace over live-action film movement frame by frame for using it in any animated scene.

Dolly Zoom- it is an unsettling in-camera effect which appears to undermine normal visual perception. Here, the effect is achieved by using the setting of zoom-lens to adjust the angle of view when the camera moves to and fro the subject in a manner that the size of the subject remains the same throughout the frame.

Optical Effects- This process is also known as photographic effects. In this technique images or film frames are created photographically, either 'in-camera' by using multiple exposure, mattes or the schufftan process. This can be done even in post-production using an optical printer. This effect might be used to place actors or sets against a different background.

Traveling Matte- in movies, when shots required mattes that change, to mask the shape of moving object, such as human being or spaceship [then this technique is used.

Aerial Image effect- It is a floating image which cannot be seen with the normal eyes. It can be seen from one place in space, with the focus of another lens. It is generally used in optical printer and movie special effects but the introduction of computer graphics in productions decreased the use of aerial image effect.

Optical printing- Any printing technique where a process camera is used in any of the step to generate the end result, like reductions, enlargements or same-sized negatives.

Prosthetic Make-Up- The process in which prosthetic sculpting, molding and casting technique is used to create advanced cosmetic effects. It was revolutionized by dick Smith in movies like Little Big Man.

Motion-Control Photography- This technique is used in both still and motion photography, it enables precise control of, and optimally allows repetitions of movement of camera.

Audio Animatronics- It is the registered trademarks for a form of robotics animations created by Walt Disney Imagineering for Disney theme parks.

Digital Compositing- The process of assemble multiple images to make a final image digitally is called Digital Compositing. This process is typically used in print, motion pictures and screen display.

Wire Removal- This technique is used to remove wire in movies. It is used as safety precautions or to simulate flying in actors or miniatures.

Morphing- This technique is used is motion pictures and animation that morphs one image into another in a seamless transitions.

Computer Generated Imagery (CGI) - CGI can refer to many different applications of computer generations. It includes- Use of blue screen to super-impose a different background onto a scene, use of motion capture camera to superimpose a different foreground, adding special effects like explosions and gore and generating 3-D animated environments.

Match moving- it is a cinematic technique that allows the insertion of computer graphics into live action footage with correct position, scale, orientation and motion relative to the photographed object in the shot.

Virtual Cinematography- it is a cinematographic technique which is performed in a computer graphics environment. Various subjects like photographing real objects for the purpose of recreating them as 3d objects.
