There is no answer to the subject why some people are more photogenic than others. But the fact remains that even if a photogenic person has beautiful skin, the pictures may not reveal it. If people can manage to conceal bad skin then why not highlight the good skin in photographs. It would not be fair to leave the beautiful skin untouched. Hence, a photo editor still needs to perform the vital function of retouching technique. Over a period of time it is well known that blur, burn & dodge have proved to be beneficial in skin retouching technique. Other than that the filters like dust & scratch also are available to hide the scars. But when these tools are not used correctly they can give an impression of a person who has done plastic surgery. And this can be bad if there is no grain of truth in it. Step aside form these regular tools and check out some more new options. They not only make the skin look better, they lend a realistic touch to the work. It does not even take a long time to do it. And if the snap is of a photogenic person, then a mere 1 5minutes is sufficient for the edit.

If you already have a picture that needs the skin retouching then open up the system and check the clock as well-not more than 15 minutes.

The process will involve a simple three-step procedure.

Manual work up for big flaws (for example wrinkles, pores, crows feet etc).Blending or merging of the layers after the retouch.Addition of the red channel to smoothen the skin.

Since this is a simple procedure, avoid doing any experiments that may take up the time. After the edit, there will be time to make some more samples. For now we just focus on the big picture. Look out for the big flaws and work with the clone stamp tool. You may also need the spot healing brush. Remove any visible spots, although a visibly good skin may not even have such issues. If there is any strand of visible hair, it can be erased. If there is any uneven skin texture due to bad makeup that too can be ironed out.

A new layer helps to edit the snap and place it in a fresh file. Use sample all layers to make an overall same change in the pixels. At this stage brush the background as well. Later it will be difficult to do. Use a separate layer for retouch process. Following this the clone and stamp tool can be pressed into action. If the skin is good, there would be no need to use the spot healing brush.

A tip: Eyes can be made to look better with opacity...with the brush. All dark circles, puffiness and crow's feet vanish into thin air. Merge all layers into one new layer. And save the beautiful picture in a PSD file format for viewing in any media.
